Michael Weigelt

Michael Weigelt has been working for more than 30 years in the SME plastics processing industry, including 15 years in manufacturing, and has served as Managing Director of TecPart since February 2010.
In addition to representing the interests of plastics processors toward policymakers and society, his areas of focus include supplier issues at both the national and European levels, the circular economy for plastics, standardization in the plastics industry, and the statistical analysis of the sector. He possesses in-depth expertise in common plastics processing technologies such as injection molding, thermoforming, extrusion, and additive manufacturing.
From 1995 until November 2007, Michael Weigelt worked at the plastics processing company Weigelt & Söhne, which specialized in multi-component injection molding, elastomer processing, and the punching of cellular materials. For five of those years, he served as Managing Partner. Following the sale of the Weigelt Group (450 employees with locations in the Czech Republic and Vietnam), he joined the acquiring company as Managing Director, where he was responsible for the Czech sites and their integration into the parent company.
He studied at Clausthal University of Technology and later specialized in plastics processing, manufacturing technology, and quality management within mechanical engineering studies at RWTH Aachen University.

- Chairman of the DIN Technical Coordination Board (TCB)
- Member of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy Strategy Forum for Standardization
- Certified restructuring and turnaround consultant (IFUS)
